Abstract
PURPOSE: To uniformly form a black oxide film with superior solar heat absorptivity on a molding of Cu or a Cu alloy by immersing the molding in a blackening soln. contg. caustic alkali and specified oxidizing agents.
CONSTITUTION: After degreasing and cleaning the surface of a warm water unit or the like made of Cu or Cu alloy as a body absorbing solar heat, the body is dipped in a nitric acid soln. having 300W320g/l concn. at ordinary temp. to smoothen the surface. The smoothened body is then immersed in an aqueous soln. contg. 20W40g/l NaOH or other caustic alkali, 5W10g/l alkali persulfate and 2W5g/l acid alkali sulfate as oxidizing agents at 50W90°C for 2W20min, thus forming a uniform black oxide film with high solar heat energy absorptivity and less radiation loss.
