Abstract
PURPOSE:To allow the set range of the voltage to be detected to be constant at all times, by a method wherein the higher and lower limit voltage signals of the voltage to be detected are made to vary with the change of a reference voltage signal. CONSTITUTION:A reference voltage input signal VREF is voltage-divided by voltage-dividing resistors 4-7 to generate an higher-limit voltage signal VH and a lower-limit voltage signal VL of a voltage to be detected, which are fed to comparators 1 and 2. In addition, a detection input signal VIN is fed to the comparators 1 and 2. When the signal VIN is larger than the signal VH, the comparator 1 is on, and the output signal VO thereof is at low level. On the other hand, when the signal VIN is smaller than the signal VL, the comparator 2 is on, and the output signal VO thereof is at low level. Only when the signal VIN is between the signals VL and VH, the comparators 1 and 2 are off simultaneously, and the output signals VO thereof are at high level as shown in the Figure. Such a comparator can be used for the level detection of an audio signal, the color balance detection of a color TV video signal, and the like.
