Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a uniformly mixed fuel of coal and methanol by a simple process without danger, e.g., oxidation, catch or fire, dust, etc., by grinding coal by a wet type mill and simultaneously blending the coal with methanol.
CONSTITUTION: Coal and water are fed to the wet type mill 3, e.g., ball mill, etc. and the coal is ground and blended with water to give slurry, which is sent through the heaters 5 and 6 and gasified into gases, e.g., CO, H2, CH4, etc. by the gasifying furnace 7. The gases are cleaned, sent through the compressor 14 to the reaction column 15 where methanol synthesis is carried out to give raw methanol, which is purified by the rectifying columns 20 and 21, and stored in the tank 22. The methanol and coal are fed to the wet type mill 27 where the coal is ground and blended with methanol, to give a mixed fuel of coal and methanol having a given blending ratio and grinding particle size.
