Abstract
PURPOSE: In the titled distillation column wherein flow rate of reflux can not be measured because the distillation is equipped with a condenser at its top, to obtain high-quality ethane, by estimating and calculating a reflux ratio of flow rate of reflux/flow rate of distillation through indirect measurement to give information, controlling the reflux ratio based on the information.
CONSTITUTION: In a distillation column for distilling LNG equipped with a condenser at its upper part, (i) the amount of condensation of LNG (L+D) is obtained from the amount of vaporization of a refrigerant in the condenser (F1-F2), (ii) the flow rate of reflux (L) or the reflux ratio (L/D) is obtained from the amount of condensation of (L+D) and the flow the rate of product (D), and (iii) the reflux ratio is controlled constant by operating the heat source (Q) for vaporizing the LNG using the information of the flow rate of reflux (L) or the reflux ratio (L/D). Control of reflux ratio is made possible even if heat transfer efficiency changes (freezing) in the piping of LNG in a warm water tank by this method in the above-mentioned distillation column wherein the reflux ratio can not be measured directly, and high-quality ethane can be recovered from LNG.
