Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform lock-unlock operation of a mechanism used in a chain tensioner or the like without causing the removal of a cap body, by forming a slit groove in a shaft while an extension hole in a location, corresponding to a core of the shaft in the casing cap body, and relatively engaging a detachable stopper to these groove and hole.
CONSTITUTION: A slit groove 20 is formed to the end part of a leg part 6 of a shaft 4 simultaneously an extension hole 30, having a longitudinal groove 30a crossing at a right angle with a diameter of the hole, is drilled in a location, correesponding to the core center of the shaft 4 in a cap body 10, then a stopper member 40 is detachbly engaged to these groove and hole. In case of maintenance work necessary to both wind tighten a spring 7 and pull a piston 8 back to the inside of a device, a jig of driver or the like is inserted from the extension hole 30 to engage its point end to the slit groove 20 of the shaft 4 and perform the work by rotating the driver. In this way, a locking function can be surely obtained simulataneously the maintenance work can be performed without removing the cap body, permitting the handling operation in a simple and easy manner.
