Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce anaerobic atmosphere containing carbon dioxide gas, extremely easily, without heat generation, by sealing a medium inoculated with anaerobic bacteria together with a ferrous carbonate disoxidation agent in a sealed container.
CONSTITUTION: A medium inoculated with anaerobic bacteria is sealed together with a ferrous carbonate disoxidation agent which may contain oxides or hydroxides of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, catechol, resorcinol, iron powder, electrolyte, various powdery or particulate filler, etc., in a sealed container made of a clear film having an oxygen permeability of ≤500cc/m.24hr.atom, pref. ≤10cc/ m.24hr.atom.
