Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent amorphous sheets from breaking while they are coiled, by a method wherein a plurality of the amorphous sheets are coiled on a coiling frame, being held between a plurality of stressed silica-steel plates. CONSTITUTION:The silica-steel tapes 2 are coiled on two reels 1 and on a plurality of reels 3 placed between these two reels amorphous sheets 4 are coiled. Back-tension devices 5 are provided holding midway parts of steel tapes 2 in order to give tensile stress to the steel tapes 2. The leading ends of the two steel tapes 2 are fixed to a coiling frame 6 and the leading ends of a plurality of the amorphous sheets 4 are held between two leading ends of the steel tapes 2. Tensile stress being given to the steel tapes 2 by the back-tension devices 5, the coiling frame 6 is rotated so that a coiled core 7 with a prescribed thickness is obtained. With above method, the amorphous sheets themselves are free from excessive stress and are protected from breaking during the coiling process. And the fragility of the amorphous sheet is protected by the outside steel tapes.
