Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a rolling mill stand sufficiently endurable to a rolling load, by laminating plural thick steel plates cut in a prescribed shape, parallelly or perpendicularly to the axis of the rolling roll. CONSTITUTION:Plural thick steel plates 6 are laminated parallelly or perpendicularly to the axis of the rolling roll so as to give a design dimensions by the innermost thick plate 7. The thick plates 6, 7 are continuously welded to form a seam 8, and hereby, a mill stand 1 is fabricated. For a mill stand 1 to be subjected to a great shock, a jointing system such as a reamer bolt is employed. In the present method, if properly selected thick steel plates 6 are employed, a rolling mill stand 1 sufficiently endurable to the rolling load is inexpensively manufactured.
