Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve fuel consumption and driving performance without decrease in voltage registant tolerence of a distributor, by increasing an amount of exhaust gas recirculation at the time of releasing fuel cut, and decreasing it with the lapse of time.
CONSTITUTION: When a temporary stoppage of fuel injection is released and then fuel is again injected, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is temporarily increased in quantity up to a prescribed EGR (for example, EGR amount of 10%) from EGR which has been compensated in accordance with conditions of engine, thereafter, EGR is decreased by ΔEGR (for example 1%) of the prescribed EGR each rotation of crank. Consequently, fuel consumption is improved in comparison with delayed ignition timing, and because car knocking, accompanied by rapid rise of engine torque, is not generated and a magnitude of acceleration exerted on a vehicle is not substantially fluctuated without drop in voltage registant tolerence of a distributor, a comfortable drive feeling can be obtained without spoiling a driving performance.
