Abstract

PURPOSE: To arrange fuel in a combustion chamber to a stratified state, on the basis of the top dead center, by subtracting a fuel injection time from the time of enging fuel injection, obtaining the time of starting fuel injection and performing intake operation of air to the lower part of a combustion chamber by said time of starting fuel injection.
CONSTITUTION: On the basis of a top dead center (TDC), a crank angle B of ending fuel injection is set. The time of ending fuel injection T1 is obtained from this crank angle ϕ and engine speed in a divider circuit 27. An injection time T2 for which fuel is injected from a fuel injection valve 15 is obtained by dividing an output value of an air flowmeter 14 with the value of an engine speedometer 21. The injection time T2 is subtracted from said time of ending fuel injection T1 in a subtracter circuit 29, then time T3 of starting fuel injection on the basis of the TDC is obtained and fed to a pulse generator 30. By the time T3 of starting injection, air enters the lower part of a combustion chamber, while during the injection time T2 mixture enters the upper part of the combustion chamber, resulting in the rich fuel existing around a spark plug.
