Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the inspection of airtightness, simpler by providing a pressure chamber used to place an airtight vessel in a fixed position, a pressurizing device to make said chamber under pressurized state, and a strain gauge for detecting the pressure difference between the pressure in the pressure chamber under a pressurized state and the pressure in the airtight vessel. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor strain gauge 22 used to detect the deformation of glass 12a produced by the pressure difference between the pressure in a pressure chamber 10 and that in a wrist watch 12 is allowed to stick to the surface of the glass 12a via a rubber sheet 24 and a metal plate 26. A detection signal 100 outputted from a voltage amplifier 30e is converted into 100a, 100b or 100c depending upon the amount of the leak in the wrist watch 12, and the signal is compared with a small and modium leak reference voltage Vcc and a large leak reference voltage VD regularly and supplied to one of the AND inputs of AND circuits 52, 56. With this constitution, the airtightness of the vessel under test can readily be inspected.
