CONSTITUTION:A ring type closed magnetic path is formed by a magnetic material 20 having high electric resistance and a magnetic resistance thin film 21 functioning as a magnetic resistance element and with a nonmagnetic insulated layer 22 put inside. At the same time, barber pole type pattern electrodes 23 of an equal potential are provided on the film 21, and resistance change measuring electrodes 24 and 25 are connected across the film 21 to flow the drive current to the film 21. Thus the driving current is controlled to flow with an angle of about 45 deg. to the direction of magnetic field.
