Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled imparting agent capable of providing extremely improved effects by a small amount of application, obtained by introducing a heat-resistant polymer solution into a nonsolvent under a shear force to give a specific pulpy material, followed by washing it with water, filtering, drying, grinding by dry method, and molding it into a cottonlike state.
CONSTITUTION: A heat-resistant polymer solution (e.g., a solution of polymetaphenyleneisophthalamide in N-methylpyrrolidone) is introduced into a nonsolvent (e.g., a mixed solution of glycerol and water) having compatibility with the solvent under a shear force, to give a pulpy material having a specific surface area ≥5m2/g (preferably ≥10m2/g) by BET method. The material is washed, filtered, dried, ground (for example, in the case of a hammer mill, the diameter of the screen is preferably 0.25W1.5mm ϕ), and molded into a cotton state, to give the desired thixotropy imparting agent. The imparting agent is preferably used in several-ten and several % ( weight ratio) to a liquid resin to be used.
