Abstract

PURPOSE: To continue arcs stably and perform titled welding without adding any special device by disposing an electrode connected to an AC power source and an electrode connected to a DC power source in proximity, and generating the AC arcs continuously.
CONSTITUTION: A nonconsumable electrode A and a consumable electrode B are connected respectively suitably to a DC welding machine 3 and an AC welding machine 2. The electric current B of AC arcs goes zero at points (a), (a'), and the electric current of the electrode A of DC arcs flows constant on minus side. At the points (b), (b') of the DC arcs corresponding to the points (a), (a') where refiring of the arcs is difficult, the arcs of constant electric current are being generated continuously and therefore if both electrodes A, B are disposed in proximity at a suitable distance accordng to the current values of both electrodes A, B, the DC arcs play the role of a trigger for the refiring of the AC arcs. Hence, the AC arcs are easily refired and the stable AC arcs are obtained continuously.
