Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a mold material of improved strength and elongation at high temp. which is obtained by containing specific ratios of Ni, Be, Zr in copper. CONSTITUTION:An alloy constituted of 0.2-2.0% Ni by weight, 0.05-0.5% Be, 0.03-0.6% Zr and the balance Cu is cast to an ingot. This ingot is subjected to hot working such as forging and rolling then to heat treatment of solubilizing and aging. Thereby, the deposition hardening type mold material for continuous casting provided with high strength, high conductivity and high temp. toughness is obtained.
