Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor having a uniformly thick insulating layer, uniform electrostatic contrast, and no image noise, by forming a specified hardened resin layer on a photoconductive layer composed of a photoconductor and a binding resin. CONSTITUTION:One 30pts.wt. imidazole compound represented by the formula I in which R, R' are H, alkyl or aryl, such as 2-methylimidazole and/or by the formula II are incorporated with 100pts.wt. epoxy resin as a hardening agent to prepare a hardenable resin composition. A photoconductive layer compoed of a photoconductive material, such as a CdS powder, and a binder, such as a hardenable cyclic butadiene rubber is formed on a substrate, such as an aluminum drum, and a solution of said resin composition is coated and dried on said photoconductive layer, and this is subjected to heat treatment for hardening to form an insulating layer, thus forming a photoreceptor.
