Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve adhesion to a substrate and to enhance resistance to weather, solvents, abrasion, corona discharge, etc., by providing a photoconductive layer containing a photoconductor and a resin consisting chiefly of a diallyl phthalate resin and a polyfunctional polyester acrylate.
CONSTITUTION: Diallyl phthalate prepolymer represented by formula I, n being a positive integer, and polyfunctional polyester represented by formula II as a binder are dissolved together with a photoconductor in a solvent, and this solution is coated on a substrate to form a photoconductive layer. A monomer, such as polyethylene glycol acrylate may be added in order to control viscosity, hardening performance, and hardness in accordance with necessity. Hardening is effected by photopolymerization or thermopolymerization in presence of a photoinitiator or a thermopolymerization initiator, respectively. The film thus hardened is fast, and reduces deterioration of photosensitivity or the like, permitting the photoreceptor to obtain a superior image. A resin consisting chiefly of said 2 resins may be formed as an insulating layer on the photoconductive layer.
