Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the overvoltage of an inverter when a fuse is fused, by connecting a diode in parallel to the semiconductor-protecting fuse of the inerter so that the polarity of the diode is opposite to a DC input voltage. CONSTITUTION:In parallel to a semiconductor-protecting fuse 2 provided on the DC input side of an inverter 1, a diode 5 is connected so as to be opposite in polarity to a DC input voltage. When the fuse 2 is fused from one cause or another, the energy flowing back from a load 3 is passed through the diode 5 and bypassed through a voltage smoothing capacitor or battery, not shown, on the DC input side, and the DC voltage V of the inverter 1 is clamped by a DC supply voltage VD. Accordingly, the overvoltage thereof is prevented.
