Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide inexpensive supply of vortex flow fans having a same performance by adjusting a part of an impeller in either 50Hz or 60Hz districts.
CONSTITUTION: Both the side face of an impeller 13 and the opposite surface of a casing 13 against the impeller 13, forming the clearance δ shown in the drawing require to be machine-finished. Therefore, the clearance δ specified for 50Hz design can be adjusted to the clearance δ' for 60Hz by increasing a cutting allowance of side faces of the impeller 13. Further, an inflow loss can be reduced for 50Hz by providing the impeller 13 with a tapered face as shown in the drawing ; as well as, when the specification is changed for 60Hz, the thickness changes only a little by cutting off the both side faces of the impeller 13 until c-c position and therefore the inflow loss is not so much increased. In such a way, the specification can be changed very easily between 50Hz and 60Hz design and the cost can be remarkably reduced because the impeller 13 and the casing 11 can be prepared as common parts.
