Abstract

PURPOSE: To widen an operating range of a blower by continuously and smoothly displace each impeller blade element in the circumferential direction of an impeller in response to a differential pressure between the positive side surface and the negative side surface thereof, and by making the inlet angle of each blade coincide with the inflow angle of fluid at that time.
CONSTITUTION: Upon, for example, a large flow capacity operation, a differential pressure induced between the positive pressure side furface and the negative pressure side surface of each impeller blade element 4 displaces the latter in the circumferential direction of an impeller, in the leftward direction as seen in the drawings, the impeller blade element 4 resiliently deforming a leaf spring 5 further more. Such a trend is particularly greater to the impeller blade elements 4 in the area near the intake portion of the blower. Then, the inlet angle β1 of each blade element 4 becomes coincident with the inflow angle βi of fluid. Thus, it can be said not only upon large flow capacity operation but also upon any other flow capcity operation that each impeller blade element 4 displaces in the circumferential direction of the impeller due to the differential pressure induced between the positive pressure side surface and the negative pressure side surface thereof so as to make the inlet angle βi of each impeller blade element 4 coincide with the inflow angle βi of fluid. Thereby the operating range of the blower can be widened toward either of higher and lowe flow capacity sides.
