Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively recover into a gutter the ink droplets splashed upon collision against a recording paper and prevent machine parts from being stained, by providing grooves on the front surface of a windshield cover for a head part. CONSTITUTION:The grooves 13 are provided in the periphery of an ink passing hole 11 on the front surface of the windshield cover 10 which prevents the air flow generated by scanning movements from disturbing the flying paths of the ink droplets. The ink adhered to the front surface of the windshield cover 10 is directed through the grooves 13 into the gutter 8 provided at a lower part. Accordingly, it is possible to recover the ink effectively while preventing the disadvantage of the prior art such that at the time of collision of printing ink droplets upon the recording paper, a part of the ink droplets is splashed as an ink mist, is adhered to the front surface of the cover and falls as ink droplets to stain the inner parts of the machine.
