Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a constant spraying pattern to be obtd. by substituting carbon dioxide gas in aerosol, by a method wherein a pressure vessel is filled with liquefied petroleum gas or dimethyl ether in a specified proportion as a propellant for an aerosol stock soln., and carbon dioxide gas is introduced under pressure into the vessel until pressure reaches a specified level.
CONSTITUTION: Liquefied petroleum gas and/or dimethyl ether as propellants for a stock soln. in a vol. ratio of the propellant to the stock soln. of 3:97W15:85, are/is introduced into a pressure vessel until the propellant accounts for 40W70vol% of the volume of the pressure vessel. Then carbon dioxide gas is introduced under pressure into the vessel until the pressure of the vessel reaches 2.5W8.0kg/cm2G. The amount of said propellant to be charged should be not more than 70vol% where change in sprayed droplets is small, while larger contents are peferred by consumers. Thus, the amount of 40W70vol% is suitable. Further, it is a practice to reduce the diameter of a nozzle in order to reduce the particle size of droplets to be sprayed. CO2 is introduced under pressure into the vessel until a pressure of at least 2.5kg/cm2G is obtd. But, a pressure higher than 8.0kg/cm2G is dangerous from a viewpoint of the compressive strength of a can.
