Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent corrosion cracking of a steel product in an environment of municipal gas by painting an epoxy- or urethane-based resin primer containing a chelate agent and a coupling agent in a paint film on the surface of steel before an anticorrosion painting.
CONSTITUTION: To prevent corrosion cracking of a product (gas tanks, tubes or the like) made of steel, particularly a high tensile steel due to hydrogen sulfide or the like, an epoxy-or urethane resin primer containing a chelate agent and/or a coupling agent in a paint film at a rate of 0.3W3.0wt% on the surface of steel. An anticorrosion paint is applied thereon. For the chelate agent, 8-quinolinol, gallic acidn-propyl gallic acid, salicylic acid or the like is used and for the coupling agent, a silan-based coupling agent or a titanium-based coupling agent such as β-(3,4- epoxy cyclohexyl) ethyl trimethoxysilan is used.
