Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively grind an end surface of unit, by laminatedly mounting laminar square ceramic units whose surfaces are plated in a vessel of triangular section, and then rotating/revolving the vessel. CONSTITUTION:Hollow bodies 1 of triangular section are carried by rotary disks 5 fixed to a shaft 4, which is driven through a pulley 14 by a motor 15. A belt 7 is hooked abut the hollow bodies 1, and then driven by a motor 9, whereby the hollow bodies are revolved around the shaft 4 while rotating. On the other hand, a grinding member such as sand paper is sticked on the inner periperal walls of the hollow bodies 1. The ratio of one side of ceramic unit to that of each hollow body 1 is prescribed 2.5-3.5. Square units 18 are mounted inside the hollow bodies 1, while both ends of the hollow bodies are sealed and the hollow bodies 1 are rotated/ revolved so that a grinding pressure generated by a centrifugal power during revolution and a grinding motion created during rotation can be imparted, thereby being capable of grinding an end surface of unit.
