Abstract

PURPOSE: To economize the power to hold open a solenoid valve by a method wherein the pulse width of the driving signal of the switching element in an oscillating transformer is changed with the output of a flame sensor generated by ignition and burning in the combustion equipment such as a hot water supplier or the like.
CONSTITUTION: When a burner is started to burn, a flame current flows in the flame rod 5 of a flame sensor (a) to the direction indicated with the arrow due to the burner flame. A field-effect transistor 17 turns OFF by the voltage drop caused by the flame current under the existance of a resistor 4, resulting in bottoming-up the minus input terminal voltage of the comparator 18 in a variable pulse width circuit (c). At this time, the driving wave form to switch the transistor 27 in a DC-DC convertor (e) is the one composed of the output of the comparator 23 in a driving circuit (d) and the output of said comparator 18. This composition makes the width of the driving pulse narrower and the ON time of the transistor 27 shorter, resulting supplying, to the valve 30, the small electric power only necessary to hold open the solenoid valve 30.
