Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent sliding due to wave pressure and to contrive to miniaturize a dam body structure, by a method wherein a plank body, engaging a lower part of a casing by means of vertical posts, is securely embedded in a rubble-mound.
CONSTITUTION: Vertical posts 3 on a plank body 1 are inserted into projection parts 5, having a U-section, on an internal wall of a cylindrical cellular-block (SB) 4 provided with a steel cover 10 to fabricate a casing 8. The casing is floated on the sea, and after it is towed to a site, water is poured therein to sink it under its own weight. After sinking, the SB 4 and the plank body 1 are uncoupled, and a compressed air is fed into the SB 4 to cause the SB 4 to float up gradually. At a stage when surfacing is completed, when the projection part 5 is raised after passing through the upper end of the post 3, a stopper 6 is hung down at the under side of the projection part as it stands coupled to a coupling element 6', and the SB 4 is automatically placed on the posts 3. The steel cover 10 is removed, foundation by riprapping is completed outside and inside the SB 4, and the SB 4 is filled with filling sand 13 to complete a dam body.
