PURPOSE:To accurately detect the revolution defect of a cam shaft despite the change in the rotating speed of a main motor by respectively detecting the rotating speed of the main motor and cam shaft of a press machine, and comparing the ratio between both with a preset threshold value. CONSTITUTION:A tachometer generator 1 detects the rotating speed of the main motor of a press machine and outputs a detection signal Vm. A tachometer generator 2 detects the rotating speed of its cam shaft and outputs a detection signal Vc. Thence, an analog divider 5 operates Vc/Vm and emits a signal Vk. The value of the signal Vk remains constant in spite of a change in the rotating speed of the main motor and when anormality occurs in the cam shaft and the signal Vc changes, said signal changes accordingly. Hence, by comparing the signal Vk and the threshold value Vk by a comparator 6, the revolution defect of the cam shaft is accurately detected without degrading the accuracy of detection despite the change in the rotating speed of the main motor.
