Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the flow rate of moment or when it is small with good accuracy by providing oscillating body detecting means consisting of light emitting elements and photodetectors other than near both ends of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Light emitting diodes 3a-3d and phototransistors 4a-4d are provided oppositely at roughly equal intervals at both ends and central part of a cylinder block formed of a transparent synthetic resin or the like. The fuel supplied from a fuel pump 11 flows via a port A into the cylinder 1 through the port of the flange 5 of the cylinder 1, flows out from the port of a flange 6, and is supplied into a carburetor float chamber 12 via a port B and an output port T. A ball 2 moves in an arrow T direction, and intercepts the light from the diodes 3c, 3d successively. The detection signals from phototransistors 4c, 4d are counted in a counter 10 via amplifiers 8c, 8d, whereby the flow rate is measured. Thereby, the flow rate of moment or when it is small is measured with good accuracy.
