Abstract

PURPOSE: To apply an efficient supercharge to an engine even at its low speed and improve its output, by connecting the delivery port of a feed air fan to the air suction port of an air cleaner, controlling an electric motor in accordance with rotary speed of the engine and driving the feed air fan with said electric motor.
CONSTITUTION: A supercharger is equipped with a feed air fan 1 driven by an electric motor 2, then a delivery port of the feed air fan 1 is connected to the air suction port of an air cleaner 4 through a duct 5. Constitution is arranged in such a manner that the electric motor 2 is controllably driven by a controller 3 and the controller 3 detects speed of an engine with a number of firing times or the like of a spark plug and controls starting operation and rotaty speed of the electric motor 2 in accordance with the speed of the engine. In case of a gasoline engine, the electric motor 2 is started when speed of the engine reaches about 1,150W1,200rpm to perform supercharging operation for the engine. In this way, intake and exhaust efficiencies can be increased to improve output of the engine.
