Abstract
PURPOSE:To maintain the initial discharge voltage of a rapid start fluorescent lamp low without subjecting the glass case to a heat treatment carried out in gas exhaustion process, and enable rationalization of the manufacturing process of the lamp by coating a first transparent conductive film made of tin oxide with a second transparent conductive film. CONSTITUTION:The inner wall of a light-transmitting glass case is coated with the first transparent conductive film made of tin oxide added with 0-1wt% of antimony oxide, the second transparent conductive film made of tin oxide added with 10-30wt% of antimony oxide, and a phosphor film, in that order. After that, the glass case is heated in air at about 600 deg.C, thereby a rapid start fluorescent lamp being constituted without subjecting the glass case to a heat treatment carried out in gas exhaustion process. The second transparent conductive film is formed on the first transparent conductive film formed on the inner wall of the glass case, by spraying a solution consisting of tin chloride, antimony chloride, hydrochloric acid and pure water. As a result, the initial discharge voltage of a rapid start fluorescent lamp can be reduced, and the transparent conductive film of the lamp can have a small deviation of the electric resistance.
