Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove the slackness of a tape completely by controlling the turning of a reel motor when a tape run is stopped. CONSTITUTION:This constroller is equipped with brakes which apply different braking forces to two tape reel turntables according to their turning directions when a tape turn is stopped, time limit circuits TM1 and TM2 which output signals for certain times respectively when the constant-speed run and high-speed run of the tape are stopped, a motor drive control circuit MDC which controls the turning speed and turning direction of a reel motor M, and a gate A3 and an EOR which supply the output of each time limit circuit to the circuit MDC so that reel motor M turns at the constant speed/high speed in the opposite/same direction to/as the turning direction before the stopping operations. Then, the motor M is turned excessively either in the opposite direction when the constant run is stopped or in the same direction at a high speed when the high-speed run is stopped.
