Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an anticorrosive for an aqueous medium having rust and corrosion preventing effects equal or superior to those of a conventional anticorrosive and causing no hygienic hazard during use by using an alkali metallic salt or an amine salt of p-methylcinnamic acid as an effective component. CONSTITUTION:This anticorrosive contains an alkali metallic salt such as Na, K or Li salt or an amine salt such as diethanolamine or monoisopropanolamine salt of p-methylcinnamic acid represented by the formula as an effective component. It is used at about 0.05-2.0, preferably about 0.2-1.0wt% concn. of the effective component in general. The anticorrosive is effectively applicable to water for a cooling system, water for hydraulic pressure for tanks, etc., water holding filld water and an aqueous medium contacting with a ferrous metal such as a water soluble abrasive material.
