Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover high quality zinc at a low cost by feeding zinc dust to a melting vessel from a storage tank through a pressure controlling tank and a packing tank and melting the dust by high frequency induction heating.
CONSTITUTION: By opening the piston vlave 81 of a duct 8 introducing inert gas, the internal pressure of a pressure controlling tank 2 is maintained at atmospheric pressure with inert gas, and a fixed quantity of zinc dust in a storage tank 1 is fed to the tank 2 with a rotary feeder 5. By closing the valve 81 and opening a pistion valve 71, the internal pressure of the tank 2 is slightly raised from the atmospheric pressure with inert gas, and a swing valve 6 is opened to shift the dust in the tank 2 to a packing tank 3. The zinc dust in the tank 3 descends into a melting vessel 4, where it is melted by high frequency induction heating and stays at the bottom part. Zinc flowing out of a discharge outlet 41 is recovered in a zinc plating tank 9 or an ingot case. Floating impurities and settle impurities are discharged from a slag outlet 42 and a cleaning outlet 43, respectively on occasion.
