Abstract

PURPOSE:To automate the operation for recovering dross so as to improve the working environment, by recovering metallic zinc through the reaction of the dross with the flux in an inert atmosphere, and by washing out the formed ash and Cl2 with alkali soln. CONSTITUTION:Top dross (b) which floats on a zinc plating bath (a) is fed to a charging inlet 29 of a recovering unit 21, while flux (c), e.g., ZnCl2 etc., is charged through an inlet by opening the cover 32, which is then closed. The dross (b) and flux (c) put into the recovering unit 21 is transferred into the body 23, into which is introduced 34 inert gas, by the rotation of a screw 24, where zinc (d) formed by the reaction of both materials is recovered 38.
