Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the same amount of production with small extrusion force, by inserting a bar-shaped block unintercepting with a die hole through over all the length of central parts of a pressure plate to be charged into a container and a multiholed extrusion die.
CONSTITUTION: A multiholed die 3 attached to the tip of a die stem 2 is applied to one end of a hollow billet 7 set in a container 1; a pressure stem 4 is advanced on the counter side of the billet 7 so as to press a pressure plate 5 to the billet 7; at the same time, a bar-shaped block 6 held by a block holder 10 is inserted through over all the length of a center hole 5a of the pressure plate 5, a center hole 7a of the billet 7, and a center hole 3b of the multiholed die 3 so as to plug and hold all of these center holes. After upsetting the billet 7, the pressure stem 4 is forcibly advanced, and synchronously with this, the container 1 and the bar-shaped block 6 are respectively advanced in the arrowed direction; hereby, the hollow billet 7 is extruded through each die hole 3a of the multiholed die 3 so that bar-shaped extrusion products 11 of the same number as that of the die hole 3a are simultaneously extruded. By the present method, an efficient and economical production is realized.
