Abstract

PURPOSE:To completely prevent vibration, due to inertia force, which propagate through the ground, by supporting a heavy weight member coupled to the bottom of a body on the foundation by means of air springs having a small spring constant and receiving the bottom portion of the heavy weight member. CONSTITUTION:A press 1 comprises a body 2, a slide member 3, a crank 4 for reciprocating the slide member 3 and a connecting link 5. Working force generated in the press 1 is internally blanced and therefore is not outwards propagated. However, operation of the press 1 is accompanied with unbalanced inertia force in the longetudinal directon due to the movement of the slide member 3, crank 4 and connecting link 5. In order to prevent vibration propagating through the ground due to the inertial force, and in order to reduce the amplitude of vibration by the press 1 itself, the body 1 is coupled with a heavy weight member 6 at the bottom 2a of the body 1 so as to increase the virtual mass of the body 2, and the heavy weight member 6 is supported by air springs 8 having a small spring constant and disposed between th heavy weight member 6 and the foundation 7.
