Abstract
PURPOSE:To cope with earthquake as well as environmental vibration by providing a first resisting member for eliminating micro displacement vibration having amplitude lower than a predetermined level and a second resisting member for eliminating large displacement vibration having amplitude higher than the predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:When a resisting member 18 in a vibration eliminating damper 10 is subjected to micro displacement vibration having amplitude smaller than a predetermined level, resisting portion 18A being lowered by a load while resisting against a spring 16 vibrates while being subjected to resistance is viscous liquid 14 so as to damp vibration. Since a wire 20 is loosened, vibration is not transmitted to a resisting member 22 for large displacement vibration. Upon application of large displacement vibration having amplitude higher than the predetermined level due to earthquake, the resisting section 18A vibrates considerably and the vibration is transmitted through the wire 20 to the large displacement resisting member 22. The resisting section 18A is subjected to resistance when it moves upward and lowers, and such motion is repeated to damp vibration. Consequently, the damper can cope with large displacement vibration as well as environmental vibration of micron order.
