Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase heat transfer coefficient and cooling rate in a cooling device, by installing rollers rotating in contact with a strip on the gas blowing surface of a box type blowing box. CONSTITUTION:The strip 1 is conveyed into a furnace by rollers 2 for conveyance in the cooling zone or suchlike of vertical continuous annealing equipment. Pressurized gas enters the gas blowing box 3 at its duct 5 and is blown against the strip 1 from blowing nozzles 7 on the gas blowing surface 6 to cool the stripe 1. On the gas blowing surface 6 robbers 8 are disposed and they are free to rotate when they come into contact with the strip 1, preventing the strip 1 from being brought into contact with the gas blowing surface 6. Thus, the formation of flaws on the surface of the strip 1 is prevented and also the increased heat transfer coefficient and cooling rate can be obtained.
