Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the preheating time by a method wherein there is provided a means for changing atomizing pressure for kerosene to make the atomizing pressure at the ignition operation different from that at the finish of preheating in the pot type burner in which atomized kerosene is supplied into the pot.
CONSTITUTION: In the operation, when a combustion air blower 4 and an ignitor 14 are operated by turning ON an operating switch, at first a prepurge operation in which only combustion air is supplied while ignition sparks are being emitted. Next, after the predetermined time, an electromagnetic pump 8 is actuated to pressurize kerosene within an oil tank 11 to send atomized kerosene from an atomizer nozzle 7 into the pot 3. The atomized kerosene is set fire in an instant by means of the sparks emitted between ignition electrodes 13. When a certain time elapses after being set fire, a solenoid valve 12 is opened so as to send a part of the oil discharged from the pump 8 back to the oil tank 11, resulting in lowering the atomizing pressure. After that, when the finish of preheating is detected, the solenoid valve 12 is closed again to bring the burner into stationary burning state.
