Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a steel plate of high strength, low yield ratio, and high ductility having composite structure of high artificial aging hardness after working by rolling the steel of the specific composition, coiling the same and holding the same at a specific temp., for a short time then cooling it under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:The steel consisting essentially of 0.01-0.12% C, <=1.2% Si, and 0.7-2.0% Mn is hot-rolled, finished and coiled. This steel is heated up to 730- 900 deg.C at >=5 deg.C/second average heating rate as hot-rolled or after it is cold-rolled, thence it is held for a short time for 0-60 seconds. Thereafter, it is cooled down to <=200 deg.C at 5-500 deg.C/second average cooling rates, whereby it is made into the composite structure of which the main structure constituting elements are a ferrite phase and a quench transformation phase. By this method, the high strength low yield ratio high ductility composite structure steel plate which is of >=35kg/mm.<2> tensile strength, is high in artificial aging hardness after working suitable for automobiles and the like is obtained.
