PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound usefuel as an insecticide with low toxicity in high yield and selectivity readily without forming by-products, by reacting a trialkylsilylcarbamate compound with sulfur dichloride.
CONSTITUTION: A trialkylsilylcarbamate compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are 1W5C alkyl) is reacted with sulfur dichloride in an inert solvent, e.g. n-hexane, benzene or diethyl ether, at -50W150°C, preferably 0W50°C, to give the aimed compound of formula II. The amount of the sulfur dichloride to be used is 0.25W 1mol, preferably 0.4W0.6mol, based on one mole trialkylsilylcarbamate compound.
