Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent missing in printing dots at boundaries between groups of heating resistors by a method wherein a final portion of a printing time for a certain heating resistor group is overlapped with a starting portion of a printing time for the next group, in a scanning system in which heating resistors are divided into a plurality of groups and printing is conducted sequentially. CONSTITUTION:A heating resistor row H is divided into 40 groups each of which consists of 8-dot heating resistors and is driven by driver circuits TRB, TRB' and a switching circuit TRD. To print at an odd (even)-numbered group, one of odd (even)-numbered transistor sets is turned ON, picture signals stored in a serieal- parallel coversion register 11 (12) are outputted from a latch circuit 21 (22) by the leading edge of a latch pulse L1 (L2) for a period of time required for printing, and TRD1 TRD8 are switched ON and OFF. When the latch pulses L1, L2 are impressed at the timing shown, the printing time of adjacent groups are overlapped and missing in printing dots becomes almost indistinctive.
