Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a wide angle zoom lens which is light, compact, easy to manufacture and also satisfactory in efficiency for aberration, by satisfying a prescibed condition, in a lens system of a 3-group constitution, consisting of negative, positive and positive lenses in order from the object side. CONSTITUTION:In a lens system of a 3-group constitution, consisting of negative, positive and positive lenses in order from the object side, zooming is executed by moving the lens system so that an air gap between the first and second groups is contracted at the long focal lingth end, and an air gap between the second and third groups is contracted at the short focal length end, focusing is executed by moving the third group, and also conditions shown in expressions (1)-(3) are satisfied. Provided that fII, fIII; ft, fL; and DS, DL show focal lengths of the second and third groups, focal lengths at the short focal length end and the long focal length end of the whole system, and air gaps between the second and third groups at the time of an infinite focus at the short focal length end and the long focal length end, respectively. In this way, it is possible to obtain a wide angle zoom lens which is light, compact, easy to manufacture, and also satisfactory in efficiency for aberration.
