Abstract

PURPOSE:To judge a long-term stability of dispersion of mixture of coal and fuel oil immediately after manufacturing the mixture or at an optional point of time during a storage term, by applying voltage on the mixture and measuring the flowing amount of electric current. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of coal and fuel oil containing a dispersion agent is sampled in a sampling vessel for measuring the insulation resistance of a liquid sample and said vessel is connected with a minute electric current measuring instrument and a voltage application apparatus. Further, the temperature of the vessel is adjusted to a prescribed temperature and voltage is applied at a point of time when the mixture is kept at a prescribed temperature and then, an electric current flowing in the mixture is measured. The dispersion stability of the mixture is judged according to the intensity of the current. Hereby, a long-term stability of dispersion of the mixture can be quickly measured and stable term of dispersion of the mixture at and after measuring time can be known.
