Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure ion concentration rapidly and accurately by deciding a transition state through checking the response of the potential of an ion selective electrode right after the ion selective electrode is dipped in a liquid to be measured in which objective ions to be measured are dissolved and then by applying pulses to the ion selective electrode according to the decided result.
CONSTITUTION: Ion selective electrode 1 is dipped in liquid 4 to be measured in which objective ions to be quantified are dissolved and the response of the potential at that time is recorded by recorder 7 via impedance converter 6. On the basis of the transition state of this potential, constant-current pulse generator 8 supplies prescribed current pulses to make the potential of ion selective electrode 1 get equibrium state rapidly. Therefore, a rapid and accurate measurement can be taken.
