Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the quantitative time and to perform errorless measurement with good reproducibility by adding the specimen to follow immediately after the preceding electrolytic current is decreased to an established value, and computing the electrolytic current until it is increased and decreased again. CONSTITUTION:In the case the constant potential coulometric analysis of the electrolytic current is performed by repeatedly adding the specimen, the specimen to be determined quantitatively in the next time is added immediately after the preceding electrolytic current is decreased to the preset value. The quantity of electricity is measured by computing the electrolytic current which flows during said electrolytic current is increased to more than the preset current value and then decreased to match the preset current value. In this method, the quantitative determination is performed based upon the relationship between the constant potential electrolytic current and the quantity of the electricity in electrolysis. Thus, the quantitative measuring time is reduced, and the errors casued by the variation in the residual current can be reduced.
