PURPOSE:To bring up remaining breakage-free plugs to an optimum temperature in response to a disconnection occurred to one of glow plugs, by automatically adjusting comparator's criterion level in compliance with the number of flowless plugs, and provide a disconnection indicating alarm at the same time. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 2 is switched on, a relay 8 becomes also on, and a disconnection detector circuit 26 performs activity by means of the output voltage inclination given by an amplifier 12. If a disconnection is noticed, the output 27 reaches L level activating a transistor 29. A resistance 31 then brings up the reverse input level of a comparator 14. Consequently, even when one of the plugs is broken, the main current supply is cut off after the remaining three plugs reach a temperature of about 900 deg.C. With resistances 31 and 15 connected parallel, however, current change-over from subsidiary to main is controlled relative to temperature within the range of about 650 deg.C and about 900 deg.C. In addition, when the disconnection detector circuit 36 detects a disconnection, an output terminal 28 reaches H level.
