Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust and set the clearance of a rotary blade top edge to the allowable minimum so as to reduce the amount of gas leaking through the rotary blade top edge, by arranging inside the casing each segment provided with a circumferential surface of circular form and facing the rotary blade top edge, and setting each of those segments slightly movable in radial direction. CONSTITUTION:A gas turbine is composed of stationary blades 1 disposed in the circumferential direction on the casing 6 along the surface in lower course from the exit A of a combustor, and rotary blades 2 etc. implanted along the periphery of a turbine disc 3 provided that those are arranged alternatively in a sequential manner. In this constitution, a number of segment 4 of U letter sectional form are provided as a top edge clearance adjusting device for rotary blades 2, while these segments are disposed on the internal surface of the casing 6 in parallel along the circumferential direction and supported as freely touching to and parting from the rotary blade top edge in radial direction. Namely, these segments 4 can be radially shifted by operation of a drive unit 14 via a driving rod 5. The drive unit 14 is principally built up with a pinion 7, a bevel gear 10 and an annular bevel gear 11 and can be operated by driving the annular bevel gear 11 by means of some adequate driving device.
