Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance charge acceptance, impact strength, productivity of manufacture, etc., by forming a coating layer as the outer shell of each capsule using an aqueous suspension resin and an alkali-soluble type resin in combination. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous suspension resin, such as styrene-methyl methacrylate- butyl acrylate-acrylic acid copolymer emulsion; and an aqueous solution of an alkali-soluble type resin, such as an acrylic copolymer resin are mixed, and core substance particles consisting of a pressure fixing component, such as a higher aliphatic acid or polyolefin, and a magnetic powder is added to this solution. A resin coat layer consisting mainly of the emulsion constituent copolymer and the alkali-soluble type resin is formed around each core substance particle by mixing and dispersing said mixture, and then drying by spray drying or the like, thus the desired pressure fixing capsules being obtained.
