Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove the change of a DC component caused by a change of spacing between a sensor and a medium by bringing in close vicinity to a medium only two sets of elements that adjoin each other separating by 90 deg. in an electrical angle in a rotation detector using a magnetic resistance element forming a bridge. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical magnetic recording medium 3 is subjected alternately to NS magnetization in the direction of the circumference and rotates. Magnetic resistance elements R11, R12, R21, R22, R31, R32, R41 and R42 of 8 elemets 4 sets from a four-sides resistance bridge where an input voltage is applied between terminals (p) and (r) and from the output is taken out between terminals (q) and (s). Two elements that constitutes each set are connected in series, separated by lambda/2 (lambda=a distance between NS) and the changes are superposed. Only elements R21, R22, R41 and R42 of two sets that adjoin each other are brought near the medium and hold an interval of lambda/4, so a DC component causedly spacing change between the element and the medium is offset each other between the elements of said two sets. Therefore sensitivity rises by the bridge and variarion of a DC component is removed.
